You know what? I'm just going to take down my MetaTracker. My ISP seems to be
changing my IP address with increasing frequency, and I'm about to go on
vacation and be away from the computer for several weeks. Faried's MT is now
the only known operational MT. If you want to help, simply follow these
directions:
http://mnet.sf.net/faq.php#MetaTrackerSetup
If your server runs Mac OS X, then you ought to be aware of this bug:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=853404&group_id=43482&atid=436453
I think the Mnet compile would work on Mac OS X as long as you have the right
version of Berkeley DB installed before you start compiling Mnet.
Earlier I said that we needed no more than three MTs and that each should be of
very high reliability. Due to changes to the MetaTracking scheme (described
previously on this mailing list) this is no longer true! Now we could use
dozens of MTs, and each one should be somewhat reliable.
