Subject: Status Report: Build System [resend]
Yesterday, I did some work on the build system.
First part was to stop pulling pyutil and libbase32 via anon CVS, given
that sf.net CVS is about as stable as ... (i'm not an english major,
make up your own "as stable as..." joke). So releasing a tarball of
each, avalible now on their respective sf.net project page. I used
python distutil's "sdist" target to create the tarballs, and I think
it's quite useful. It did a good job of ignoring the "CVS" directories
everywhere.
Then I modified Mnet's setup.py to pull tarballs of these two and
Twisted. I think it work pretty well.
I also changed the verification hash for all these from md5 to sha1.
W32 build: I built Mnet using Mingw. I need to update the DOC in CVS
about this, but it was actually pretty easy, except for some weird stuff
distutils is doing. I have more work to do on this, but if anyone has
questions (evilrob?) please contact me. I hope to have the better docs
done before I go away next week.
