[mnet-devel] requirements for a working v0.6 net

It would be nice if users who try out v0.6.2 are able to actually do something
with it.
That requires that there be content for them to browse and download.
Creative Commons looks like a great source of content.
To have content requires a few stable block servers, a few stable content
trackers, and a large number of relay servers (stability optional).
Hm. This makes me think that relay service should be turned on by default if
your node isn't behind a firewall.
It also requires stable metatrackers! We currently have zero. I think three
metatrackers is ideal, because then if one goes down, we have plenty of time
to find someone to run a new one while still having two and thus not being in
"imminent death" mode of having only one.
I want three metatrackers run by three different humans! If one human is
administrating three metatrackers, that can still help a bit with reliability
(not to mention load-balancing if we get a huge number of users), but it
doesn't really satisfy my desire to have three completely independent MTs.
I don't know what the current network looks like, because Tschechow's beloved
Carnivore Department has fallen silent. Oh yeah, also because there are no
MTs so there *is* no current network. But even if there were, we wouldn't
have any convenient way to tell how big and stable the servers are.
Damn, we really need to get those scripts from Tschechow or convince him to
run the Carnivore Department again.
