Yes, I'd much rather you spend your hacking time hacking on Mnet than
on darcs. Since you are (as far as I know) the only person who hacks
on Mnet and who doesn't have darcs running, then there shouldn't be any
problems with cvs merge conflicts since you are the only cvs user (who
has write access).
Why don't you just use CVS for now, and I'll make sure that darcs
http://mnetproject.org/repos/mnet and cvs.sf.net stay synced, somehow
or other...
