[mnet-devel] strange error..

there is 0.75, of course, and if i change it into let's say 0.8, that it 
complains about 0.8 not being a valid literal for float()...
i put diags into that showing that this confman.dict.get thing is 
returning 0.75 of type str, which should be fine....
and it happens only after starting a publish, and it only happens since 
yesterday, although i can't see what should have changed there...
Of course there is a cheap workaround for that, but why?
