[Mnet-devel] paper to read: "The Livny and Plank-Beck Problems: Studies in Data Movement on the Computational Grid"

They pose a pair of problems, one of which is similar to the Mnet download
problem (i.e. "blockwrangling").  They measure a few simple strategies.
Nothing too shocking, and none of their strategies are exactly the same as
blockwrangling, but it gives me a pretty positive feeling about the current
blockwrangling strategy.
