From icepick at icepick.info Tue Sep 6 18:06:18 2005 From: icepick at icepick.info (icepick) Date: Tue Sep 6 18:20:22 2005 Subject: [Mnet-devel] Alive again Message-ID: <431E12DA.4060402@icepick.info> Hi all, Back in March the server mnetproject.org was hosted on was hacked into, and it's taken a while until I had the time to spend setting this list back up. You might be interested in recent Mnet developments: * I've been working on converting Mnet to use twisted rather than pyutil's DoQ. * I have written a python bridge to the i2p network. http://www.i2p.net/ It's based on twisted. My plan is to replace most of what egtp with i2p's network. The advantage of this is that it will become much more difficult (if not impossible) to find the IP addresses of different peers. * AllMyData.com (which was HiveCache, who originally spun off Mnet) is looking for beta users. Zooko is currently employed there and they seem to be moving with the distributed backup idea. I have not yet installed their software, but it looks like you can only access data that you have published into the network, not data from other users. I'm on #Mnet on freenode on the weekends when I'm working on Mnet, if anyone wants to stop by. icepick
